Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our History

Habitat For Humanity of Montrose County became an affiliate in July 1991.  We have constructed 42  Habitat homes and moved and renovated one home since 1992.  In 1996 the affiliate began developing a 7 1/2 acre subdivision within the Montrose city limits. The 7 1/2 acres have been subdivided into 29 lots, and are now known as the Mesa Vista Habitat Community. Twenty-six Habitat families now reside in Mesa Vista. In 2010 we began a progam called “A Brush with Kindness”, in order to help low income homeowners fix up the exterior of their homes. Beginning in 2011 this program was expanded to include Critical Home Repair and Weatherization for low-income owner occupied homes in Montrose County.
