M.O.R.E. from Habitat! How to Maintain - Obtain – Retain a home Education
This two day class is offered to the community at the Mesa State, Montrose campus. Classes will be offered each semester.

In these class, we will create tools to help you understand and manage your money. We will discuss the wise use of credit as well as how to restore bad credit. We will learn about the laws that affect owning a home and how to avoid foreclosure. We will explain basic home maintenance as well as how to conserve on family energy and landscaping costs.
The topics covered in class include:
- Monthly spending plan;
- Creating good credit;
- Paying off debt and creating a saving plan;
- Controlling family energy costs;
- Buying vs. renting;
- Legal aspects of home ownership;
- Home maintenance and zero landscaping;
- Benefiting from tax laws;
- Home Owners’ Associations & being a good neighbor.
