SUGGESTED INCOME GUIDELINES FOR FAMILY SELECTION
Your gross annual income should be:
| Family of | More Than This | Less Than This |
| 1 person | $12,850 | $21,350 |
| 2 people | $14,650 | $24,400 |
| 3 people | $16,500 | $27,450 |
| 4 people | $18,300 | $30,500 |
| 5 people | $19,800 | $32,950 |
| 6 people | $21,250 | $35,400 |
| 7 people | $22,700 | $37,850 |
| 8 people | $24,200 | $40,300 |
Example: It is suggested that a family of five have an annual gross income that is less than $32,950 and greater than $19,800 to be eligible for a Habitat home.
These guidelines will be used when determining your total annual gross income from all stable income (i.e. employment, food stamps, SSI, etc.). This information will be taken from your completed application. In most cases we will use your current gross monthly income as adjusted to yearly income when using these guidelines.
The above figures are based on HUD guidelines for median family income for non-metro counties in Colorado. They are derived by obtaining the figures for 100% of median family income for non-metro counties for families with one through eight persons, then taking 50% of the figures to obtain our maximum yearly incomes allowable, and 30% of those figures to obtain our minimum yearly incomes allowable. The only exception to this is when the minimum 30% figure is not at least $12,850.
Besides meeting the income criteria our decisions are made on:
1) Need
2) Willingness to Partner with Habitat
3) Credit
4) Attending an Orientation/Application meeting
5) Sweat Equity Hours 250 for single parent/500 for two parent family
Please stop by our office, at 1601 N. Townsend Ave. to get an informational brochure and sign up for the next meeting.
